Creating Global IMPACT:
Improving
Maternal,
Perinatal,
And
Child Health
Together
Global Impact Lab conducts rigorous, collaborative research to improve survival and long-term outcomes for pregnant individuals and children worldwide. Our team at the University of Washington focuses on four core areas: preventing preterm birth through oral health in pregnancy, neonatal feeding and nutrition, children’s neurodevelopmental outcomes, and engineering innovations that make healthcare more accessible. By partnering with clinicians, hospitals, and research teams around the world — from Malawi to Seattle — we translate evidence into practical solutions that advance health equity in both resource-limited and high-income settings.
